While psychic ability is an important skill to have, it is not one that I require my potential husband to have (though obviously it wouldn't be an undesirable skill)

Contrary to popular belief I am not obsessed with height, just 5'9/10 and look silly wandering about with someone shorter than me (see left)

NB. I am obviously wearing 6" heels in this photo...and my friend is short.

  1. well, I wish you all the best, and will be following your progress..

  2. Damn it! =)
    My life plans dashed again.
    Good luck with your search.

  3. Is the whole height thing an absolute must?

If so I know where I can get some rather nice boots with two-inch soles (for me that is). If anyone asks I will tell them that it is for medical reasons.

Some people have one leg shorter than the other and must wear one thick sole. I have both legs shorter than the other, and without the thick soles, I would float two inches above the ground, which tends to attract comments.

  4. It's sad that you have the same ridiculous height requirement as most American women, because, that and your predilection for female facial hair apart, you seem quite interesting. I was single for years not because I'm a terrible person but because the girls I took out all wanted someone taller than they were. I'm five foot eight with shoes on. I also have an IQ of 172; musical talent in the guise of a trumpet player, singer, pianist, and composer; all the skills of a handyman, chef, and automobile mechanic; and my own radio show (now for almost ten years). Fortunately for me, I found a woman intelligent enough to like me in spite of the fact that I'm an inch below the national average height. (She considers herself fortunate, too.) And I don't care if she wears heels; it merely improves my view!

End of pointless testimonial. Back to you (obviously your main interest): Height isn't everything. When you get old, you're going to shrink anyway, and your husband will end up looking at the top of your balding, grey head. Why would you do that to him? It sounds cruel to me.

  5. does your friend need a husband?

  6. You know, you could always get a step ladder, I'm seriously thinking about one... I'm 6'3" so I'm surrounded by people who have to stand on tip toe to hug me!

Or you could get these shorter guys a pair of 6" heels or even stilts! ;)

  8. I'm 6 foot 3 and am a hugely eligible young gentleman. I want some easy publicity for my blog, so would maybe consider this farce. I don't want to say much more, but I'm two years older than you and studying law at uni.

If you like my blog posts we'll talk further.

  9. I'm actually only a year older. I don't read things properly.

  10. I am not short...

  11. So in other words, you ARE obsessed with height? I think it's fascinating that people feel free to say just how "silly they would look walking around with a short man", but were they to say "boy, I'd look silly walking around with a man of (choose race here)" people would think you were a bigot. But yet it's ok to say this. Hmmmm.....
